Sanding should be done in the direction of the natural grain of the stone. The grit selected for sanding should correspond to that of the sealer coat.

This is when all high-grit material on the surface is removed with a heavy-duty grinder to ensure an even finish. It is important that all grit, dirt and old sealant are removed from floor before it can be restored using a new sealant.
